Concarneau

Concarneau is a lovely fortified city in Brittany looking out on to the Atlantic. This walled city is full of both tourists and charm. Traditional cookies, pastries, ice cream, tins, pottery and porcelain and lots of useless souvenirs fill the stores that line the charming streets of Concarneau. It's really nice to walk the perimeter of the wall and see the fortifications that were used hundreds of years ago to defend the city, archers windows, gaps between the floor and the wall to allow boiling water and/or oil to be poured on the enemy, etc.
